Plane Goes Down in Caribbean Sea
A small plane carrying actor Christian Oliver, his two young daughters, and the pilot crashed into the Caribbean Sea on Friday. All four people on board were killed.
The plane was traveling from St. Vincent and the Grenadines to St. Lucia when it experienced difficulties and plunged into the ocean. Local fishermen and divers recovered the bodies from the wreckage.
Oliver, 51, was best known for his role in the 2008 film “Speed Racer.” He had also appeared in the films “The Good German” and “Valkyrie.”
His daughters, Madita, 12, and Annik, 10, were also on board the plane.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Oliver’s Family and Friends Mourn
Oliver’s representatives released a statement saying that their “thoughts and prayers are with him, his two daughters and his family.”
Oliver’s friends and colleagues also took to social media to express their condolences.
“Christian was a great guy and a talented actor,” said director Nick Lyon, who worked with Oliver on the upcoming film “Forever Hold Your Peace.” “He will be deeply missed.”
Investigation into the Crash Continues
The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority is investigating the crash. They are currently in the process of gathering information from the wreckage and from witnesses.
The U.S. State Department is also providing assistance to the families of the victims.
